Hip Arthroscopy
Hip arthroscopy is a procedure that may be used to treat common athletic injuries like hip labral tears and impingement. Arthroscopy allows for quicker recovery so athletes can get back to play more quickly. Dr. Cahill is fellowship trained in sports medicine, and arthroscopy is a large part of surgical treatment of sports injuries.
Hip Replacement
Arthritis, fractures, or other injuries can lead to severe hip pain. Hip pain can interfere with everyday activities, making even simple tasks like walking or bending difficult or impossible. Nonsurgical treatment options like medication, physical therapy, and activity modification may be helpful for some patients. In other cases, where hip pain is severe and does not respond to nonsurgical treatment, hip replacement surgery may be an option. During a hip replacement procedure, the damaged portions of the hip are removed and replaced with prosthetic components to allow for ease of movement.
Mako Robotic Joint Replacement
Our team keeps current on the latest developments and technology in joint replacement surgery to provide the best results for patients. Mako joint replacement is one of the newest technologies impacting joint replacement surgery. With Mako robotic-assisted technology, your surgeon is able to pre-plan the procedure based on a 3D model of the patient’s own anatomy. This leads to more accurate implant placement, quicker recovery, and greater long-term satisfaction with the procedure.
Outpatient Joint Replacement
Outpatient joint replacement is a great option for patients who prefer to recover in the comfort of their own homes. In addition to being able to recover at home, outpatient joint replacement has many other benefits, including decreased risk of infection and blood clots after surgery. Our surgeons work with an outpatient surgery center that is highly experienced in patient safety protocols, and our team also makes sure that patients are properly educated before surgery so that they are able to recover at home safely and comfortably. Advanced pain management techniques also help patients recover at home in the initial recovery period, when pain is typically the worst.

At Cahill Orthopedic, we have extensive experience with a full range of hip conditions, from arthritis to sports injuries.
We only recommend surgery when more conservative treatments have failed, and hip pain and dysfunction interfere with normal activities. When surgery is indicated, we utilize the latest techniques, including arthroscopy and robotic assisted joint replacement.
