Fellowship-Trained Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon | Spine & Trauma
Dr. Jigar Gandhi is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic spine surgeon specializing in the comprehensive treatment of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine conditions. He utilizes innovative, minimally invasive surgical techniques, including robotic-assisted surgery and intraoperative navigation, to provide precise, individualized care while minimizing tissue disruption and supporting a more efficient recovery.
His clinical interests include:
- Minimally invasive spine surgery
- Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgery
- Robotic and navigated spine surgery
- Complex spinal fracture care
- Orthopaedic extremity trauma surgery
In addition to treating degenerative spinal conditions, disc herniations, spinal stenosis, deformity, and other complex disorders of the spine, Dr. Gandhi has extensive experience caring for patients with spinal fractures and traumatic extremity injuries. His combined background in orthopaedic trauma and advanced spine surgery allows him to evaluate each patient comprehensively and develop a treatment plan based on the individual’s diagnosis, functional goals, and lifestyle.
Dr. Gandhi is committed to a patient-centered approach built on careful evaluation, clear communication, and shared decision-making. Whether treatment involves conservative management or surgery, his goal is to provide the safest and most effective care while delivering an exceptional patient experience.
Dr. Gandhi began his professional education at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University, where he earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree. He subsequently earned his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and completed the Benjamin Fox Orthopaedic Surgery Research Fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Dr. Gandhi completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Cooper University Health Care, one of New Jersey’s Level I trauma centers. His residency provided extensive, high-volume training in the evaluation and surgical management of complex fractures, polytrauma, and other critical orthopaedic injuries. During his final year of residency, he served as Administrative Chief Resident.
Following residency, Dr. Gandhi completed a combined orthopaedic and neurosurgical spine surgery fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School in Boston. His fellowship provided advanced training in minimally invasive spine surgery, complex cervical and lumbar reconstruction, spinal trauma, deformity correction, robotic-assisted surgery, and intraoperative navigation.
By combining his extensive orthopaedic trauma experience with advanced fellowship training in spine surgery, Dr. Gandhi provides comprehensive care for patients with both routine and complex spinal conditions, spinal injuries, and fractures of the extremities.
